Shipping Information

What shipping company do you use?

For most local deliveries, Basket Israel hand delivers our gift baskets. For non-local deliveries, Basket Israel ships via the Israeli Postal Service. Local deliveries include the greater Beit Shemesh area, most of the greater Jerusalem area, Beitar, and the Gush Etzion area.

Do you ship same day?

Basket Israel ships all orders within 24 hours of receipt of order (except during Holiday times). Local hand deliveries leave throughout the day, from 10 am-7 pm. We cannot guarantee specific time for deliveries.

Can I request a specific shipping date?

Yes. During checkout, you have the ability to specify the date you want your gift basket delivered in the space marked "comments". However, during holiday seasons, Basket Israel will not be able to guarantee a specific date. The deliveries are generally made throughout the week preceeding the holiday.

How long will it take to receive a package shipped via the Postal Service?

Most shipments will be delivered within 2 business days. Shipments going to the far North or South within 3 business days, and Eilat in 4 business days. To certain Moshavim, Kibbutzim,and Yishuvim, the Israeli Postal Service's policy is to leave the recipeint a note that the package is waiting for them in the local branch, and it is the recipient's responsibility to contact them to arrange for the delivery.

Is the delivery date guaranteed?

Israeli postal system generally delivers the same or next day to most areas. However they do not guarantee the date of delivery -- all delivery times are estimated. Please be sure to leave one extra day if it is a time sensitive gift basket. Basket Israel does not take responsibility if the delivery company does not deliver on time. It is our responsiblility to make sure your order is processed and shipped on time. It's is best to order early to ensure your package will arrive on time.

What days of the week do you deliver?

Basket Israel delivers on Sundays through Thursdays. Friday deliveries are available in the greater Beit Shemesh area. To other locations, Friday delivery is availabe at an additional charge. Please contact us for more information.

How much will the shipping cost?

You will see a drop down menu when you place your order, please be sure to choose the appropriate shipping destination. The cost of shipping will be calculated upon checkout.

Do recipients have to sign for their packages?

Orders sent via the Israeli Postal Service require a signature. Local Hand deliveries do not require a signature.

What Happens if the person is not home to accept the package for a local hand delivery ?

If the person is not home, the driver will either leave it by the door, or by a neighbor. You have an option to request that Basket Israel not leave it by the door or by a neighbor, but rather re-attempt delivery, for an ADDITIONAL delivery fee. Please be sure to mark this on your order in the "comments" section.

What happens if nobody is home to sign for a package requiring a signature?

Generally,the driver will leave a note at the location, informing the recipient that a delivery attempt has been made and giving instructions on how the recipient can ensure they get the package delivered on the next business day.The Israeli Postal Service will make 2 delivery attempts before returning the package to us. If the package has been returned to us, we will re-ship it for an additional delivery price. If you opt not to reship, we will refund the cost of the original basket, less a 25% restock fee.

Can you ship to P.O. Boxes?

Basket Israel can not deliver to a P.O. Box. All orders must include a COMPLETE address, including apartment or office number, to guarantee delivery. We also require an Israeli phone number, preferably a cell phone number, which is especially important in case there is a problem with the address. We cannot use an American phone number.

What happens if I give you the wrong shipping address?

If the item was shipped, and the Israeli Postal Service does not call from the field to notify us of a delivery problem, the basket will eventually be returned to us. Once it does, we will, of course, make every attempt to correct the mistaken address and re-send it to the proper destination , however, it will take several days until it is returned, and re-shipped.

If the gift is being hand delivered, we will make every attempt to find the correct address, provided we have a correct phone number, but there will be an additional delivery charge.

There is a $20.00 fee if a package needs to be re-routed or re-delivered due to an incorrect or incomplete address. Please make every attempt to assure you have given us the proper information so we can deliver your gift in a timely fashion.
